The Governing Body makes sure that the CCG runs effectively, efficiently, economically and with good governance.
It exists to serve patients, give confidence to the public, support clinicians and is accountable to NHS England.
Dr Billy McKee is a GP at The Derby Road Practice in Ipswich. He is a member of the Governing Body and Clinical Executive and is the clinical lead for improving stroke services.
Dr McKee is committed to challenging and informing established thinking and practice about current provision and help people and systems to change to a more patient focused highest quality service.
He believes the CCG will be better able to be the patients’ advocate as the GPs involved will have daily contact with patients. There will be a greater emphasis on patients taking more responsibility for their own health throughout their life. When they need healthcare, a simpler, more responsive, highest quality service will be there for them.
The Governing Body meets every two months in public.
