The Governing Body makes sure that the CCG runs effectively, efficiently, economically and with good governance.
It exists to serve patients, give confidence to the public, support clinicians and is accountable to NHS England.
Dr Michael McCullagh is a GP at Orchard Medical Practice in Ipswich and has been a GP for over 25 years.
He is a member of the Governing Body and Clinical Executive and is the clinical governance and audit lead on the Governing Body and his other related interests include medical education health economics and research.
He is works on the improving health and educational attainment for children and young people, maternity & Primary Care work streams.
He believes that the CCG has achieved a great deal in promoting and gaining understanding and acceptance for the concept of clinical commissioning. The CCG is working hard with partners towards greater service integration, to tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for our young people.
The Governing Body meets every two months in public.
