NHS England

NHS England oversees the NHS commissioning budget of £80bn, directly commissioning £20bn of services while allocating the remaining £60bn to the network of CCGs. NHS England is responsible for suppoting CCGs and holding them to account for the local health outcomes they deliver.

The development of national standards such as commissioning guidance, standard contracts and pricing mechanisms also falls under the remit of NHS England and the organisation also provides direction for the whole health system through a series of frameworks described in the diagram below:
