Award success for Wickham Market Medical Centre
Staff at Wickham Market Medical Centre are celebrating their success in retaining the Investors in People (IIP) accreditation.
The practice has received the award every year since 2005 and is one of only two GP practices in the county to hold IIP accreditation.
The award recognises a culture of staff engagement and leadership and demonstrates a commitment from the practice to deliver training and support to staff. This helps ensure those staff are equipped and able to deliver the very best health care to their patients.
To achieve the high standards set by IIP the practice is rigorously assessed, and staff confirmed that they feel supported and receive the right training to help them do their job well.
The practice employs 35 members of staff at the Wickham Market Medical Centre and at a branch surgery in Rendlesham, serving around 10,000 patients. After its most recent CQC visit the practice was also rated ‘Outstanding’ for leadership, with an overall rating of ‘Good’.
Practice manager Jane Wallace said: “It is a credit to the team that the practice has retained this accreditation for the past 13 years. Over this time there have been many challenges and changes in primary care and our continued support of staff is reflected in this continuous IIP status.
