Helping make Kesgrave even healthier and happier

Issued on behalf of the Patient Participation Group of The Birches Medical Centre in Kesgrave

A health roadshow is set to support people from Kesgrave in accessing the right health services for their needs and help them live happy and healthy lives.

The event will see representatives from more than 30 local health and care and voluntary organisations under one roof at Kesgrave Community Centre, Twelve Acre Approach, Kesgrave IP5 1JF on Tuesday April 10 from 10.00am – 3.00pm.

The event is being organised by the Patient Participation Group (PPG) at The Birches Medical Centre and is supported by NHS Ipswich and East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group.

People will be able to ask questions on health issues that matter to them and learn more about the services available which could help them and their family. Advice will available on subjects including mental health, diabetes prevention, hospice care and support for carers.

Sue West, chair of the practice’s PPG, said: “Our PPG is keen to help local people keep physically and mentally well. Yet often people don’t realise just how much help and support is available to them.

“This is an invaluable opportunity to find out more, meet with representatives of health and care organisations and ask questions. Everyone is welcome and you do not need to be a patient at The Birches Medical Centre.”

Louise Hardwick, head of operations at NHS Ipswich and East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “I would like to thank the members of the PPG for making this happen and know they have put a lot of work into organising this event. I do hope that people from Kesgrave will support their local practice and come along on the day.”
